Got me again!

I have been tagged for another meme! This time the tagger is the lovely Ann of Yellow House Treasures, and it’s a Birthday meme. This one is particularly fun because it involves Wikipedia.

The rules are to go to Wikipedia and type in your birthday month and day only. Then post 3 events, 2 births and one holiday that occurred on your birthday, then tag 5 friends.

My birthday is May 19. May 19 is the 139th day of the year (140th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 226 days remaining. (Ugh, 226 days til I can be guilt free about my yarn purchases)

On May 19th:
1536 – Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII of England, is beheaded for adultery.

1780 – New England’s Dark Day: never-explained complete darkness falls on Eastern Canada and the New England area of the United States at 2 pm.

1962 – A birthday salute to U.S. President John F. Kennedy takes place at Madison Square Garden, New York. The highlight is Marilyn Monroe’s infamous rendition of Happy Birthday.

Born on May 19th:
1890 – Ho Chi Minh, Vietnamese leader (d. 1969)
1945 – Pete Townshend, English musician (The Who

Holiday on May 19th:
Feast day of the following saints in the Roman Catholic Church:
Saint Ciarán mac Colga, Dunstan, Peter Celestine, Ives, Emiliana, Pudentiana, Theophilus of Corte

I hope the following people don’t mind, but I’m tagging:
The Bag Lady and the Pro
Caffeinated Knitter

Thanks Ann, that was fun!
