Yay! One down, one to go.

That’s Lucy modeling her foot in the background. I think she wants a pair too! Now that my needles are free, tonight I’m starting the Endpaper Mitts finally. It will be my first real colorwork project!

Birthdays turned out to be a smashing success! I wish my co-hostess and I had taken pictures. I did end up taking the rice crispy treats to work but only as a joke to show Joli (my co-hostess). I stopped at Publix on the way and picked up a fruit bowl as a second sweet treat. Joli laughed but talked me into putting the crispy treats out anyway since they tasted so good. The funny thing was that the treats were the first things to run out! I alternated them pink/grey/pink/grey on the platter and I really thing it made them look a little less scary. We used packing tape around the outside of the umbrella and attached clear tinsel giving the rain effect, and then the table underneath looked like a picnic spread. Joli made “Picnics on a stick” which were delicious. Overall I think it all worked out pretty well and was worth all the work.

  1. Glad to hear you’re casting on for the mitts. I’ve been toying with making a pair for myself after I’m done with my current set of socks. I have some Elann Baby silk that I can’t think up a use for, and the endpaper mitts might be just the right project.

  2. These are beautiful socks. -=applauds=-

  3. Thanks!

Dailystitches – If you do start them I may come to you for help.

  4. Congrats on your finished sock! It looks so cool! (and, I’m glad the treats went over well..)

  5. I love the sock. Hope to see the second one soon. I enjoy reading your blog, keep up the great pictures.

  6. Oh very cute! I haven’t seen a short sock from anyone in a while, though you’d think they’d be common with the season – I like the colors! I’m glad your birthdays event went over just fine šŸ™‚

  7. Ankle socks are how we Floridians roll. Otherwise it gets toasty! Thanks for the compliments!
